It's that time of year where I try out some new self tanners. If you know me, you know I'm weary about trying tanners. Many of them appear too orange, streaky, or just smell awful. Since I started self tanning a few years ago, I have been a die hard fan of St. Tropez. Their products always look so natural and are streak free. But, a few months ago I had seen a new tanning brand at Ulta and Target called B. Tan. Everything about this product intrigued me. The fun pastel packaging, the catchy product names, and the inexpensive price. B. Tan is sustainably sourced, vegan & cruelty free, and their packaging is made from recyclable materials. Their tanners are free from parabens, palm oil, sulfates, phalates, and mineral oils (all of which can irritate the skin). The self tanners are made ONLY with 100% natural DHA (the ingredient that gives you a long lasting dark tan color), plant based oils and botanicals. But, the most interesting thing about this product is the color. It isn't dark orange, nor is it olive based, it's actually a deep purple tone. The purple base is great especially for those with a neutral or cool undertone as the color matches your undertones and ensures your tan doesn't appear too orange colored. I was skeptical about the purple base at first, but I was pleasantly surprised with how natural and deep it made my tan look. However, I don't know if someone with a golden or warm undertone would have the same luck with the base color. The application of this tanner was beyond easy! It goes on smoothly and blends out like a dream. I was a little nervous because I had some spots appear patchy (I think it's because my tanning mitt is old and nasty), but when I woke up the next morning I had zero uneven spots or patchy areas. Upon application, there was a slight tanner smell, which is very normal. But after sleeping in it and rinsing the excess off in the morning the scent disappeared. I was also very impressed by the dry time of this product. I still slept on a towel since I have white sheets. But, when I went to bed and throughout the night I didn't feel sticky and the color didn't transfer on my clothing. Overall, this is the best self tanner I have tried. I would recommend this to someone over St. Tropez because you get the same amount of product for HALF the price, it dries quicker, and lasts longer. I was beyond impressed with this product and can't say enough good things about it! If you wanna go from "pasty to tasty" you need this in your life!
