For the first time in a while, I actually got excited about a palette. This color story is unlike any other I had seen. Not all of the shades are super "Christmassy" but I liked the colors they chose and how they laid it out in the pan design. This palette has 30 shades with a variety of velvety mattes, stunning shimmers, and two pressed glitters. As soon as we got this palette at work, I immediately bought it. Upon swatching, all of the colors were BEAUTIFUL, especially the shimmers. But, the real test is how the product actually performs on the eye. And that is where I ran into a problem with this palette. I first tried the dark plum shade in the third row. I expected it to look as beautiful on the eyes as it did in the pan. But it was just a mess. It was so patchy and was several shades lighter than what I had anticipated. I kept adding layers trying to darker the color, but this only made it more difficult to blend. On another try, I used some of the red shades. They didn't look nearly as patchy as the purple shade, but still not as vibrant as the swatches looked. But, all of the lighter, more neutral colors all performed wonderful without any issue. All of the shimmery shades looked stunning, especially when applied to the lid wet. But, the glitters in this palette are AWFUL. They do require glitter glue, which is fine, but the glitter flakes off within minutes of application. I did have a few pieces fall off into my eyes which can be very dangerous if the glitter isn't cosmetic grade. Overall, this palettes looks nicer than it performs. BH Cosmetics is known for their high quality, low priced palettes, but this isn't their best one. Some of the colors are great, but I don't recommend purchasing it. I'm keeping it solely because I like collecting palettes. I hardly reach for it since I know the color payoff isn't the best. If you are looking for a cheaper palette with a variety of colors, I would stick with the original BH palettes or even Morphe.
