It's been a long time in the beauty community since we've seen a foundation go viral. But this one truly broke the internet and has been sold out ever since. This product wandered around on Tik Tok for a few weeks, but what really made this product explode was when youtuber/infleuncer, Tati Westbrook, made a video about it. Tati was blown away by how well the product worked and how inexpensive it was (at a mere $11). After her raving review, the Catrice True Skin foundation became sold out everywhere. I wanted to try this so so bad, but I assumed it would be several months before I was able to get my hands on a bottle. While on vacation in Florida, I stopped into an Ulta store. As I was walking around the store, I found the Catrice section. And by sheer luck, there was ONE True Skin foundation left. Better yet, it was in my color. It was meant to be. Before I give my opinions on this product, let me discuss WHY it's so amazing that it's only $11. There are two unique key ingredients in this product to keep your skin feeling hydrated. The first is hyaluronic acid, a proven component in helping skin retain its moisture. The second is watermelon seed oil which has been known to help restore skins elasticity. The formulation of this product is very light weight and has medium, buildable coverage for a flawless finish. Another great factor of this product is it's made without a lot of junk. This foundation is manufactured without any animal byproducts, gluten, parabens, or preservatives. Not to mention it's also cruelty free and vegan. We rarely see something this inexpensive with all these amazing features. Besides the fact that it's so cheap, one of the main reasons I purchased this is because Tati said it's extremely full coverage (which I love). However, I have to disagree with that statement. I definetley agree with Catrice when they say it's medium to buildable. I like to describe it as "your skin, but better." This is one of those products that helps to enhance your features. The finish is natural matte. So not dry and cakey, but also not shiny and dewy. Something else I was surprised about is how liquidy the formula is. I usually don't prefer this because I've noticed it'll usually have trouble drying down. Yet, the True Skin foundation isn't that way. After about two minutes of being on the skin, the liquid is completely dry. Which means you have to set it with powder quick (if you prefer that). After that, it isn't moving until you take it off. It lasts around 12 hours before it starts to separate and crease. And it'll last even longer if you set it with powder and spray. With all that being said, this is obviously my new favorite foundation. I was shocked at how well it worked and how beautiful it made my skin look. If you happen to get your hands on this foundation, definitely give it a try! You won't regret it!
