I am a BIG advocate for all things Clinique, especially their skincare. Something about the ingredients they use just seems to work great for a lot of people. Which can be hard, because everyone's skin is different. Along with cleansing and moisturizing, exfoliating should be a part of your skincare routine. This important step, that you only need to do a few times a week, is vital in removing dead skin to reveal a more radiant, fresh face. I thought this product was genius. I wouldn't have to separatley buy BOTH a cleanser and exfoliant, I could have two in one! The price point is great for how much product you get and how high quality it is too. But, sadly this product didn't live up to my expectations. To start, the smell was too much for me to handle. It smelled like a citrus cleaning solution. Although the scent went away after a while, it was enough for me to reach for other products instead. The cleanser on it's own was fabulous and I felt my face was deeply clean. But, the exfoliant didn't seem to do much. Sometimes when the exfoliant is too large in size, it can actually become more difficult to sluff off dead skin. A small exfoliant or even micro sized is ideal because it can get down into the pores and hard to reach areas. After using this, my skin did appear more radiant but, I still noticed a lot of dead skin in areas like my chin and cheeks. This product was alright, but I know Clinique can do much better than this. If you still want a Clinique exfoliater, the large bottles of liquid toner can work wonder for lightly removing dead skin cells. If you are wanting to branch out and try different brands, a few other favorites are the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant or the Tula So Polished Exfoliator. These are all in a similar price range too.
