There were TONS of makeup releases in 2020 (especially from Colourpop) but this was BY FAR my favorite release from last year. I haven't been this excited about an eye shadow palette in a while. But, this is definetley a one of a kind palette. There are a variety of fun shadow finishes including mattes, shimmers, and pressed glitters. Each vertical row offers unique shades in every color ranging from ravishing reds to gorgeous greens and even psychedelic purples. This palette is PERFECT for anyone who loves to play with color. You can play with every color for a fun rainbow look, stay within a row for a monochromatic eye, or eye do a small pop of color in the inner corner to stand out! The possibilities are truly endless. Another thing I love about the layout of this palette is how the horizontal rows go from pastels to gradually darker. The color story is one of the most important factors when making a palette. If the colors aren't laid out in a way that is appealing to the eyes, then it is less likely the palette will sell. People sometimes complain that Colourpop has too many releases, but every product from the brand is consistently good. There is not a color in this palette that isn't perfectly pigmented. It swatches just as well as it performs on the eyes. The James Charles palette by Morphe used to be the most popular rainbow eye shadow palette in the beauty world, but this one definetley takes the cake. Although this one is only a few dollars cheaper, the shadows in the Colourpop one are much better quality. Since owning this, I have yet to reach for my James Charles palette again. The colors blend much easier and I appreciate there is a gradient rather than random pops of colors in the James Charles palette. This is currently my favorite eye shadow palette I own. If you love playing with color and texture when it comes to your eye look, I highly recommend this.
