I never understood all the hype around Drunk Elephant products. But, now that I've tried their stuff, I'm completely hooked. In 2009, a mother of four, Tiffany Masterson, was looking to make a little extra money during the recession. She began to experiment with non-toxic skincare and created the brands first legendary product, Marula Oil. In 2019, the brand sold for a whopping $845 million and continues to flourish to this day. Their products are known for their high prices and fun packaging. But, after reading all the non-toxic and clean ingredients in their line, I completely understand why their products are more expensive. Within the last few months, Ulta and Drunk Elephant signed a contract to be in business together, which means I got some product to try! To be honest, I expected this facial cream to be your average fancy pants moisturizer that talked a big game but didn't do much. I couldn't have been more wrong. This protein infused moisturizer is formulated with peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and waterlily to immediately improve skin's tone, texture and elasticity. This cream also helps to reduce the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. Drunk Elephant's unique peptide complex helps to retain moisture in the skin which leaves it feeling bouncy and looking plump. Of course this product is made without what Drunk Elephant calls the "suspicious six;" essential oils, silicones, chemical sunscreens, SLS, fragrances + dyes, and drying alcohols). When it comes to the packaging of this product, I'm obsessed. Instead of a jar that can get full of germs, it has a hygienic pump that evenly distributes the right amount of product. Not to mention, all of Drunk Elephants packages are recyclable. A win for the environment and your skin. The texture of this product is light enough you can wear it in the day under makeup, but hydrating enough it can also be used as a night cream. My current skincare routine includes mixing two pumps of their TLC Glycolic Night serum with this Protini moisturizer for ultimate rejuvenation and glow. I understand that this product is not cheap, but skincare is something worth splurging on and since these products are made with non-toxic ingredients, I think this is definetley a brand worth investing in. I'm beyond happy with this facial cream and I can't wait to review more from the Drunk Elephant line.
