The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation has quickly become a cult classic in the makeup industry. It creates a full coverage, 24 hour all matte look without creasing or caking. So when they released this new concealer that claims to be the same formula as the foundation I was ready. When testing it at work I rather liked the way it felt and how it wore on the skin. One side is the prep, which is a pinky colored serum which is supposed to be applied before you use the other side, which is the concealer. I did just that. When wearing the hydra prep side under the makeup, it caused my foundation and concealer to spread and cake immediately after application. So, I decided to try the other side without. The concealer felt light at first, but after letting it sit for a few minutes it began to feel heavy on my under eyes. I wore it throughout the rest of the day to continue my investigation. About mid-day through it began to crease and made the appearance of my eye bags MUCH greater. I don't believe this product is worth the money because of the performance of the product and the ridiciously small amount of product you get. This is a decent concealer for lighter makeup days, but the prep side is pointless in my opinion. Besides those two factors, the applicators are plastic and hurt your eyes when applying. The eye area is very delicate and shouldn't be messed with. For a product at this cost, they should have spent more effort on the applicators as well.
