If you haven't already noticed, I am a BIG fan of It Cosmetics. So, I was very excited when they recently launched 4 new skincare serums to target a variety of needs. The one that really caught my eye in the line was their Bye Bye Dullness serum. This concentrated serum has 15% vitamin c to help dramatically brighten skin. This serum also helps to fight off free radicals. It Cosmetics claims that you can see results in as little as 10 days. Along with 15% vitamin c, there is also a splash of vitamin e added to help keep skin hydrated. This product is vegan, cruelty free, dermatologist tested, and is fragrance free. In the past, I have always had great luck with It Cosmetics' skincare line. It is reasonably priced and also works great with my skin type. But, I was really disappointed in this serum. To begin, it smells AWFUL. As my friend described it as "dirty hot dog water." I know I sound dramatic but it's true. It was so strong in fact just pumping some product into my hand, my eyes started to water. The serum itself is more of a liquid consistency versus how most serums are thicker. That doesn't mean it won't work. it just isn't how most serums are usually formulated. Upon application on my face, the serum immediately started to burn. This could be due to a few factors. I do have sensitive skin and although I am used to vitamin c concentrates, I don't think I've ever used it in this high of an amount. It did not break my skin out or cause a rash, so I continued to use it. I used this serum in the morning every other day for about a month. Every time, it continued to burn my skin. Yet, there was no major difference in the appearance of my skin. My face did not look brighter, it looked just the same as before. Overall, I was not impressed with this serum. It smelled horrible, was too liquidy, and did not work as promised. If you are looking for a great vitamin c serum, I highly suggest Mad Hippie's vitamin c serum which is only a couple dollars more and you get more product!
