In spring of 2019, beauty guru Jaclyn Hill made a video announcing she was launching a makeup line. Fans were ecstatic about the new brand. But, this unfortunately didn't last long. Dozens of consumers quickly posted photos of the unacceptable products on social media. Some lipsticks had melted, contained hair fragments, and even had mold. In our cancel culture society, people were quick to attack Jaclyn for her "lack of caring." Hill quickly apologized stating that it was a manufacturing issue and she would be more cautious next time. However, Jaclyn Cosmetics didn't release anything new in the next year expect for a holiday highlighter palette. But, people were still reluctant to buy. In the past year though, things began to look up for Jaclyn. Not only was she launching three new products, her brand would also be carried in select Ulta locations and on Ulta.com. Despite the setback from her first launch, Jaclyn did not let this stop her. She had a dream of creating a beautiful brand and I think she has achieved that. I'll be honest, I bought this product solely for the fact that I'm a fan. But, I feel like influencers aren't after a cash grab like some brands. They seem to take more time crafting their products because they know what works and what doesn't. And you can tell she put time and effort into this collection. I RARELY say this, but everything about this product is perfect. The packaging it comes in feels HEAVY. When a beauty or skincare item feels heavy, to the consumer it tends to be more luxurious, as cheaper products have cheaper packaging. The blush and bronzer are a beautiful baked formula. The baked method of creating makeup tends to make the product not only look more pigmented but appear less patchy on the skin. The duo comes in six unique shades. The blushes range from soft pinks to hot oranges while the bronzers are cool and light to rich and chocolatey. There truly is a duo for everyone. I have tried this product several times now and I can honestly say it makes me look FLAWLESS every time. The formula glides beautifully on the skin for a subtle, soft, airbrushed look. I have never experienced that with any bronzer. I always find myself trying to cover patchy areas. But not with this product. The blush is a gorgeous peachy pink (similar to NARS Orgasm but without shimmer) that looks so naturally appealing. Needless to say, I am beyond impressed with this product. This just proves we need to give people (and companies) second chances. Ms. Hill worked her butt off and now has created some beautiful stuff. Jaclyn, you have MORE than redeemed yourself! I can't wait to see what else comes from this brand!
