A few years ago, Jaclyn Hill, one of the biggest beauty influencers, launched the original Jaclyn Hill palette. The original included many neutral, warm toned shades with a few pops of color such as teals and purples. I bought that palette the day it launched and I use it almost every day. When Jaclyn initially stated that she was coming out with a volume 2 palette many people (including myself) wondered how could she possibly top the first one!? This palette has many similarities and many differences compared to the original. In terms of shades, the two palettes are very unique. The first one as Jaclyn stated, "is more for an everyday look." The second she stated, "has more fun pops of color with a few blending shades to amplify and brighten a look." If you are a makeup collector like myself, I think you need both for different looks. Jaclyn says she has been working on this second launch for a couple years now. Brighter colors are much harder to perfect unlike brown, neutral tones. She wanted to perfect the color story and payoff. There are 3 finishes in this palette; shimmer, satin, and matte unlike the first palette that only had 2 finishes. ALL of the colors in this palette blend together beautifully and don't fade upon application. Bright shades are very hard to perfect like I said, but, they're even harder to keep the color pigmented. I really love the unique, fun story Jaclyn created in this second launch. I am BEYOND impressed and happy with this product. Photos simply don't do it justice, you'll just have to try it for yourself!
