No one can compare to the sultry, feminine sound that Alicia Keys has. The 40 year old singer has sold millions of albums, grabbed several Grammys, starred in television and films, and even was a coach on The Voice. But lately, Alicia is on a new journey, launching her skincare line (or rather "soulcare"). A few years ago Alicia changed the game in Hollywood. She decided to go "makeup free." In an industry so driven by looks, she wanted to change the conversation. She wanted people to see her who she really was, not just her looks. Since then, she has been on a journey to healing, which is why she created Keys Soulcare. This line is dermatologist developed and crafted with clean ingredients. Keys Soulcare is about carving out a time to focus on self care, which is something many of us can forget about. Since this is such a new brand, there hasn't been much talk on how it is. Which is actually kind of nice because it lets the consumer form their own opinions. The first I tried from the line is the Golden Cleanser. This cleanser is made with manuka honey, turmeric, and chamomile to gently purify the skin. The honey helps to nourish, chamomile helps to calm irritated skin, and turmeric helps to detoxify. I'm pretty picky about my cleansers (as you probably already know), but I was shocked about how well this one worked. The purple, glass bottle feels like something you find at the department store while still having the price at a mere $20. The texture of the cleanser is thick but not foamy. After using it, my skin feels doesn't feel stripped of it's natural moisture. I've used this cleanser for about a month and my skin looks so luminous and has retained it's moisture. I have really enjoyed this cleanser and I can't wait to try more from Keys Soulcare!
