It's been TWO YEARS since I last reviewed a Kylie Cosmetics product. But, to be honest, the brand has kind of been forgotten about. Kylie is still selling and releasing products (and making millions of dollars). But, I feel like no one really talks about the brand anymore. Lately at Ulta, almost everything (except Kylie Skin) has gone on sale. I'm not sure why this is. But, since most of the Kylie products are so pricey, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try some new things from Ms. Jenner. During quarantine, I honestly haven't bought a lot of lip products because no one sees my lips. But, my coworkers haven't stopped raving about this gloss. So I decided to give it a try. When I say this stuff is AMAZING, I mean its like a dupe for Fenty Gloss Bomb amazing. I thought nothing would ever compare to that but this is pretty dang close. When the Kylie glosses were first released, the component was quite different than what you see pictured. It came in the same tall container as her liquid lipsticks and had an applicator with several little hairs instead of a classic doe foot applicator. When it initially launched, people tweeted photos of the applicator looking frayed or broken off. People also complained how goopy and sticky the formula was. Kylie heard the claims and quickly finished making the product. Several months later, she launched the High Gloss. Fans were hesitant at first, but the High Gloss soon became a smash hit. The High Gloss comes in a gorgeous clear, short tube so you can clearly see which color is inside. I love the rebranding of the harsh black to the soft baby pink, it makes it feel much more feminine. But the applicator is my favorite part. It's a GIANT doe foot that grabs the perfect amount of product so you aren't repeatedly dipping the wand back in. The gloss has a decadent sugary smell similar to a wedding cake. The colors are very opaque yet not at all sticky on the lips. In my opinion this is the PERFECT gloss formula. I highly recommend getting it! P.S., it's on sale at Ulta for a mere $10 right now, so stock up while you can!
