This is one of the most unique concealers I have ever tried. From the enormous applicator to the lightweight, soft matte finish I am blown away by this product. When I first saw this item on shelves, it looked fairly bland to me. No exciting packaging, no celebrity endorsements, nothing new and innovative being offered. Even upon first swatching I wasn't wowed. With this product, you have to actually try it to understand how and why it works. Lancome states on their website that this concealer is a "hydrating, lightweight full coverage concealer that brightens dark under eyes and covers imperfections without creasing or caking." Most items that are marketed as "full coverage" are typically heavy feeling and occasionally seep into fine lines. Lancome saw that problem and decided to combat it. Rose and water lily extract help to keep the formula hydrating while glycerin keeps the product sweat resistant and easy to blend. The applicator wand is one of the biggest I have seen. It has a pointed tip to precisely cover the under eye area, a flat surface to quickly cover larger area, and flexible structure to make applicator more simple. At first glance, I thought this wand was a bit gimmicky. But, after actually trying it out, it is so user friendly. You can swiftly spread out the concealer in a matter of seconds. Last, I want to talk about the interesting formula. Lancome explains it as a "natural matte finish." Which is a bit contradictory. Think of it more as a "your skin, but better." The airy formula ensures zero creasing while delivering an airbrushed, flawless finish. I think this formula is probably my new favorite. I hate cakey matte but I also despise looking like my face is shiny or wet. This natural matte formula gives the skin the hydration it needs while keeping it looking impeccable. The ONLY downfall of this product would be the bleak shade range. There are only 20 shades, 4-5 of which are dark toned. This is sometimes common in the beauty industry with a new launch to see how the product sells before releasing more shades. Hopefully that is the case here since their bestselling foundation just released more shades after being sold for several years. Overall, this is a one of a kind concealer. The way it makes my skin looks is unmatched to anything else I've tried. I always love my face makeup whenever I use this product. If you are wanting to try something new to step up your makeup game, I highly recommend this item.
