Sometimes when it comes to eye shadow palettes, it feels like there is nothing original any more. It's really been a while since I've even purchased a new palette because nothing excites me anymore. But, when all hope was fading, the makeup gods heard my prayers and answered them by releasing the Morphe x Sour Patch Kids palette. I guess we're collaborating with candy companies now because a few months ago HipDot partnered with Peeps as well as Reese's. I'm not mad about it, just never saw this one coming. Ever since Morphe changed their labs from the U.S. to China, it seemed like the product quality went downhill. The shadows felt more dusty and the packaging felt cheaper. But, this collab brought back the OG Morphe formula that everyone used to love. I bought this palette honestly just for the aesthetic. I didn't even swatch the colors before buying it. But, these pigments are seriously high quality. The first two rows of the palette are all rich, vibrant mattes. But, there are also a couple nudes in there too. In my opinion, it doesn't quite match the color story of the palette, but it's such good quality that I can't be mad at it. The last row is all iridescent shimmers. Upon first swatch of the shimmers I was a bit underwhelmed. They felt a bit too dusty for me. But, after wetting my brush with some Morphe Continuous Setting Mist, they looked beautiful. Along with the shadows, the packaging of this is so fun and very on brand for Sour Patch Kids. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented this palette was. Morphe, after this launch, you're back on my radar. Hopefully they can keep up the quality work with future launches!
