Charcoal masks have become increasingly popular in the beauty industry in the past few years. Charcoal helps to get rid of excess oils, clear blackheads, and purify pores. Living in such a polluted, heavy environment in the Unites States our skin can be heavily harmed. Doing an occasional mask can seriously do wonders for your skin. This mask is one of my favorites. To begin, I wouldn't recommend it usually for dry skin because the charcoal and clays in the mask are so drying that it can be too much for drier skin types. However, if you have normal/oily skin this mask is a lifesaver. The mask only takes 5-10 minutes to completely dry down, unlike other masks that can take 15-20 minutes. You will know when it's dry because you can feel the clays harden and even crack on your skin. At that point, grab a washcloth and some warm water and gently wipe the mask off. After the mask is complete you immediately see a dramatic difference in your skin. Pores were instantly cleared, excess oils vanished, and even texture decreased. Your skin will also feel baby smooth after the mask as well. I really recommend doing a serum then an intense moisturizer after. Just because you may have oily skin, does not mean you don't need a moisturizer in your routine. Sometimes, when your skin overproduces oils, it is the body's way of saying "I need moisture." I would also only use this mask when you feel like you need it. If you are dry, I would only use once a week if not once every two weeks (thats what I do). If you have normal/oily you can use it up to twice a week. You don't want to use this product everyday because it can over dry the skin. But, in moderation it can really help to improve skin's quality.
