The CBD trend in the beauty community doesn't seem to be disappearing any time soon. CBD is a potent, natural antioxidant that helps to soothe skin while also protecting it from harsh environmental stressors. With such a powerful ingredient like CBD, it's no wonder brands are infusing it into their products. Pür launched their very own CBD line as well earlier this year. Their line includes an eye cream, a setting mist, a tinted lip balm, under eye gels, lipstick, and a liquid highlighter. I decided to pick up the setting spray because it claims to be the perfect solution for dry skin. Besides CBD, this spray is made with other wonderful ingredients like green tea, ginseng, and mushroom extract to help control excess oils while also boosting hydration. It's made without BPA, fragrance, gluten, sulfates, or parabens. This setting spray also claims to be infused with skincare to help diminish the appearance of wrinkles. When reading all these claims I thought to myself "there's no way this is all true." And it isn't. Only about half of this was true in my experience. To start on a positive note, this spray really did lock in my makeup. I had zero creasing, no matter how many layers of foundation I had caked on. It also kept me feeling hydrated without looking shiny. It kept all of my oils at bay even when I got sweaty. I also love the mister on this product, it finely mists the face without drenching or spurting at you. However, this product has just as many negatives as it does positives. I'm not sure about the skincare infused claim because I used this product for about two weeks straight and saw no difference in my skin. Maybe I didn't give it a long enough chance, but I'm too skeptical to wait longer. But, by far the worst thing about this product is the SMELL. Oh my gosh, the smell. I can't quite put my finger on the exact scent but it basically smells like a variety of potent herbs mixed up in a blender. Not only that, but the smell takes a good 15 minutes to fully vanish (or get used to). At first I thought I may have gotten a bad bottle, but I read the reviews on Ulta.com for this product and many people say the same thing. If they could get rid of that gnarly smell, I would be using this spray much much more. As for now, I still have this mist but I use it on the rare occasion that my Morphe setting spray runs out or to simply wet a brush. This product does work, and I love the finish it leaves on my face. However, the smell just about makes me want to puke.
