After hearing rave reviews about this product from my favorite beauty influencer, Tati, I knew I had to try it for myself. I was a huge fan of Smashbox's original Hydrating Studio Skin foundation, so I was eager to see how this one compared. This foundation claims to have a weightless feel, helps to control oil and shine, and stays on for 24 hours. Not to mention it comes in a variety of 40 shades. To be honest, I was most excited about the squeeze bottle, but it actually made it more difficult to measure the right amount of product. I soon discovered with this stuff, a little goes a long way. It claims to be "lightweight," but it was actually one of the heaviest foundations I have tried. Now, don't get me wrong, the coverage is THERE. It really helps to blur any imperfections and makes the skin look healthy. But, it was far too thick for me to enjoy. I also noticed the dry down time was very long. I felt like it took almost 30 minutes to completely dry down. This could be due to the fact the formula is so thick, but for the everyday woman, that is far too long. After baking my face with powder, I went to brush off the excess and some of the foundation came off too. I was shocked and quickly tried to fix the spot with some concealer. After a few hours of wearing it, I noticed some creasing near my chin, nose, smile lines, and eyebrows. It wasn't anything awful, but for how full coverage this claimed to be I expected it not to crease. Overall, this product was not a hit for me. It felt heavy on the skin, creased, and was hard to find the right amount to use. But, I do admire the large shade range and how full coverage it is. Everyone enjoys different products, so just because something wasn't right for me, doesn't mean it won't be right for you. Just know what you like and dislike in your products and that will make the buying process much easier!
