If you have been reading my blogs for a while now, you know my favorite self tanner brand is St. Tropez. Their products give you a natural, streak free glow without the nasty fake tan smell. Since summer is right around the corner, I thought it was probably time to start tanning again. I went to buy my St. Tropez tanning mousse and realized I needed to get a safe tanner for my face (please do not just use body self tanner on your face, this can cause irritations and breakouts.) The one I had tried last summer was the Ulta brand face tanning drops. They worked well once I got the hang of them, but they were pretty intense. If you distributed a drop too much, your face looked orange. I was wanting to try something new that was a bit more natural looking. St. Tropez states that this face serum is "ultra-lightweight and filled with good ingredients like vitamin c to help brighten and vitamin d to protect skin from external aggressors." This serum is also made with clean ingredients, is cruelty free and also vegan. To use this serum, you can either mix it with any moisturizer or use it as a serum by pressing it into the skin and then applying moisturizer over it. The bottle recommends using 1-4 pumps for a natural looking glow. I tried this and absolutely nothing happened. My skin did not look darker at all. So, the next time I tried it I used 8 pumps (bold of me considering what happened the last time I used this many drops with a face tanner). I woke up the next day with a gorgeous glow! The reason I gave this product a 3/5 is because yes it does work, but the directions are a bit misleading and I feel as though it's pretty pricey for how much product you end up using. I'm going to finish using this bottle but I don't think I will be repurchasing it.
