Tula, like many other skincare brands, is slowly adding beauty products to its line. Their first beauty style launch was as primer. The Filter Primer comes in 4 shades for fair, light, medium, and deep skin tones. This product claims to blur imperfections and keep your skin moisturized. This primer also has a beautiful radiant finish. It's made with what Tula calls "glow particles" to give a natural shimmer to skin. Tula says that you can use this a base for makeup to better illuminate the skin or you can even use it alone to give the face a glowy finish. Filter Primer is also non-comedogenic and won't clog your pores. The feeling of this primer is very liquidy, but once warmed up and applied, it melts right into the skin. The shade Luna (for fair/light skin tones) is made specially with rosemary and chamomile to help soothe skin and diminish redness. All of Tulas products are made with probiotic extracts and super foods to help the skin stay balanced as well as nourished. There are two things I disliked about this product. The first is the color. As you may know, I'm a very pale girl. When I'm tanned, I'm light at best. When I first pumped out the product, the color was a pearl like white. I thought this would help to enhance my natural tones without washing me out. But, unfortunately, the color quickly changes once it warms up to your skins natural heat. My shade went from a pearly white to a peachy golden color. I thought I had accidentally gotten a deeper shade, but this was just the color changing on my skin. It didn't make my skin look orange, but it for sure didn't enhance my natural skin color. The only time I use this primer is after a fresh tan, because that's the only time it doesn't look crazy on my face. However, once foundation is applied, you can't even see the primer anymore. There is just a radiant finish under your makeup. I loved how hydrating this product felt. It feels just like a moisturizer. I don't agree with Tula when they say that this product helps to blur imperfections. I saw zero difference in the appearance of my pores. But other than those two factors, I really enjoyed this product. I'm not sure if I will be repurchasing this product in the future. I have other primers that are clear where I don't have to worry about the color it leaves on my face. If this primer didn't change to the odd peach color and remained pearly, I would use this everyday. I hope Tula listens to its audience and changes this feature.
